Georgia Tech currently is home to a wide variety of spaces where students create art, including Paper & Clay, a fine arts makerspace, music practice, recording, and rehearsal spaces, specialized labs for creating and editing film and video, and an inventory of media equipment available for student checkout. The Robert C. Williams Museum of Papermaking hosts permanent and temporary exhibits as well as hands-on workshops in the artistic practice of handmade paper, the S. Price Gilbert Memorial Library hosts artists-in-residence who create site-specific artwork and collaborate with students, and the Ferst Center for the Arts presents performances by visiting artists, community arts organizations, and student productions.
Office of the Vice Provost
Supporting the arts initiatives within the classroom, the Associate Vice Provost for the Arts leads the development and implementation of arts-focused programs across the Institute. This includes strategic planning, program development, student engagement and fostering connections with the arts community.
Office of the Arts
In the Division of Arts, Belonging, and Community, within Student Engagement and Well-Being, the Office of the Arts serves the campus community by supporting students in the development of their own creative practices, and by facilitating connections with exceptional artists from around the world.
DramaTech
DramaTech Theater is a student-run theater focused on artistic experimentation with a technical background. We seek to foster a collaborative, comforting social environment that allows students to take on leadership roles and be involved in all aspects of theater while finding a creative oasis on campus. DramaTech provides a creative outlet and allows students to improve themselves and the theater community by improving on leadership values, technical skills, and artistic endeavors.
Museum of Papermaking
The Robert C. Williams Museum of Papermaking melds art, history, technology and industry from historical and global perspectives. Museum visitors follow the path of paper from the earliest examples of writing materials, to the Chinese discovery of how to make paper, to the paper mills of Europe, and the high-tech machinery of today’s modern paper industry.
The Museum's mission is to collect, preserve, increase, and disseminate knowledge about papermaking - past, present and future.
Student Organizations
Georgia Tech students look for innovative ways to blend music, dance, visual art, theater and other arts pursuits into their social, service, and co-curricular activities. And no wonder - many students either arrive at Tech with a strong creative background, or they want to get involved in something new and fun. Involvement in the arts helps you stay focused, stimulates creativity in other areas like academics, and relieves stress!
Paper & Clay
Paper and Clay is an on-campus creative space located in the Pavilion space (across from Dunkin' and Jimmy Johns). This space exists for students and other guests to unwind, build community, and learn new skills. With eight pottery wheels, pre-made ceramics for glazing, large format printing, and a variety of arts and crafts, Paper and Clay is the perfect place to make art and meet people!
